The following article will provide you with instructions on how to create Leave Types and assign them to all the employees.
IMPORTANT: ONLY the default leave types marked with an ‘*’ are transferred to the Payroll module.
Step 1: Launch the Leave module
Step 2: Click on Setup from the left-hand side menu, and then on Leave Types
Step 3: Click the Add Leave Type button
Step 5: Select the Leave Type from the drop-down menu, Applicable Year, the Default Entitlement (In Hours) for that applicable year (since these may differ each year, please confirm the total hours on the DIER website), the Minimum Hours per request is also needed, and this allows employees to book until that amount per day.
Note: You can create custom leave types by selecting New Leave Type from the Leave Type drop-down.
Step 6: It is important to tick the Assign to all employees so that that Leave Type will be assigned to everyone. The Can be requested by employees must be ticked if each employee applies for their own leave. We also suggest that if the employees apply for their own leave, Needs approval should also be ticked.
These steps should be repeated for all the Leave Types you would like to create on the system.
