A Fringe Benefit is a benefit, provided by reason of employment or office. Fringe Benefits are classified into 3 distinct categories:
- Category 1: Car Benefits
- Category 2: Assets & Accommodation
- Category 3: Other Benefits
A fringe benefit can be added to the employees’ profile as a recurring payment.
Step 1: Launch the WorkForce People module
Step 2: Click on Employees, then on List from the left-hand side menu to open the employee list. Open the desired employed by clicking on edit/view.
Step 3: Go to the Payrun Adjustments tab and click on + Add New Fringe Benefit Record
Step 4: Fill in the Category, select Is Taxable if the benefit is taxable, the Amount to be added per payrun, the Type of fringe benefit, Start Run Number, Start Year, and a Description.
Note: If the End Run Number and End Year are left empty, the Fringe Benefit will continue to be added on each payrun.
Note: For ‘Car Benefits’ Fringe Benefits, WorkForce Payroll calculates 50% of the Amount as taxable, and 50% of the Amount as non-taxable, until the maximum cap of €1,170 is reached. WorkForce Payroll automatically calculates the whole Amount as taxable after the maximum cap of €1,170 has been exceeded.
Step 5: Click on Save.
