This article will help you set out the Overtime Types in the TimeKeeper module. If your company also has the Payroll Module, these Overtime Types are important to be set up prior to the Approval process since they impact how the approved overtime hours will be paid to your employees.
Step 1: Launch the Timekeeper module
Step 2: From the left-hand side menu click on Setup, then on Clocking Types
Step 3: On the right-hand side of the screen, you find the Overtime Types. Select the overtime types for all instances.
List of Overtime Types that can be set:
- Overtime 1
- Overtime 1.5
- Overtime 2
- Overtime 3
- Overtime Custom Rate
The overtime rate for 1-4 is automatically calculated by the system, based on the employee's Basic Pay. On the other hand, Overtime Custom Rate is the default overtime rate specified by the user for each employee.
Note: If there are already approved overtime hours outside a locked period, the Overtime Types cannot be edited. Lock the period or unapprove the hours to update the overtime types.
